Merry Christmas !!!

On behalf of the Vancouver TraiNgang, I wish all of our viewers a happy and holy Christmas, and a successful and prosperous 2010.

Thanks to Lisa in Maple Ridge, we have these photos of the annual Canadian Pacific Holiday Train shot out in the rain at it's Lower Mainland stops on 18 Dec.

Here's a shot of the locomotive at Agassiz...

... and finally, a few of the Vancouver TraiNgang and other volunteers who donned vests and hard hats to assist CP police with protection of the train at it's three Lower Mainland stops (Agassiz, Port Haney and Port Moody).

As one of the volunteers at Port Haney, I was impressed by the continuous stream of visitors who braved the weather and headed down to the stage car, almost until the time the train was ready to leave, while it seemed there was an equal stream heading in the opposite direction to see the locomotive. Many folks stopped to ask directions to the food bank drop off, or the concert, or ask about where the train had started, where it was going next, what cargo it was carrying, how long it took to set up the decorations, and so on, or even simply to say "Merry Christmas!"

Well done Canadian Pacific - the train was spectacular, it brought out the community, and helped bring good cheer to many!

Merry Christmas everybody!
