Marklin/TRIX - Just a few highlights!

• MHI - The ever-popular Glaskasten locomotive will be part of a 4-piece passenger train, Stock # 26619. For the first time this will have a buffer capacitor along with a MFX/DCC Sound Decoder. The DB Class 151 (Stock # 39136) is coming in a special hand-weathered edition and remote-controlled pantographs. The Trix version can be found under stock # 25655. An accompanying 5 Piece VTG Tank Car set (Stock # 46465) makes for a terrific looking train.
• A fantastic model of the Class 2159 Dual Power Diesel/Electric locomotive is being offered under stock # 38900. Both pantographs are digitally controlled as well as numerous sound and light functions. Unfortunately, this will only become available in 2027, hopefully that means January! The Trix version can be found under stock # 25655. The Class 2019 Dual Power Locomotive Stock # 38901 will come with all 4 pantographs digitally controlled. The Trix version can be found under stock # 25901.
• Marklin Magazine celebrates their 60 th Year Anniversary! The Class 185.2 Electric is coming in a beautiful pictures color scheme with 24-carat gold pantographs and couplers. You can find this under stock # 36060.

MiniTrix

• The DB Class 112 Rheinpheil Electric Locomotive is announced as a completely new tooling locomotive with body and frame being made of diecast zinc. Stock # 16269. This will come with 29 light and sound functions! 2 Coach sets accompany the locomotive, stock # 15368 and # 15369. The 15369 will come with LED Marker Lights!

LGB

• LGB now for the first-time is offering the SOEG Diesel Locomotive 199 018 including a figure model of Nicole, the engineer. The locomotive comes with extensive light and original sound features. You can find this under stock # 26450.
• Another high-light is a Display Case with a Roller Test Stand, stock # 54000. It’s made to go with the American Shay, however can be configured for other LGB locomotives.

First of all, we would like to THANK EVERYONE for their participation in the 48-hour pre-tariff sale the previous weekend. The response was overwhelming at times and we worked through the weekend to late hours to ensure your packages we’re delivered to US Post prior to new US Customs regulations. Again, thank you for the sales and for the heart-felt messages that came in from so many customers. Really incredible.

Sadly, US customs regulations Sec 321, imposed by the current government administration for all global imports has not been repealed, leaving the world with suspended GlobalPost shipping to the US until a solution is found. This came in to affect, August 29th, 2025.

What this currently means for our US Customers?

1.     With the suspension of Section 321, all shipments entering the USA, will require formal customs clearance, i.e. via Fed-Ex or UPS or DHL or Canada Post Brokers. They in turn will assess any duties and/or taxes involved prior to release. The buyer, is of course, is responsible for these charges.

Note: Marklin, USA will be shipping our US Customers directly from their warehouse in Missouri, so you will not have to worry about current backorders or submitting new Marklin/Trix & LGB orders with us.

2.    Canada Post – they are updating their systems to accommodate the new  US Customs regulations. Their new system will access a brokerage fee; duties & taxes that must be paid for prior to a shipping label being created. We are currently working with Canada Post to implement this into our systems.

3.     We are still looking at US Post shipping options, but this will require more investigation. We will keep you posted.

Here we are in mid summer and the last thing we want to think about is Christmas. Marklin, USA however, is offering a great blow-out price on last year's Christmas 'Start up' starter set. These are a perfect gift for young children to unwrap Christmas morning. 

This set includes a festive Christmas train in a holiday-inspired design. The train consists of a tank locomotive, passenger car, and gondola, along with an oval of “snow covered” track, locomotive controller with battery, and electrical hookups. The set is packaged in a decorative box that resembles a present. (This set does not have a headlight.)

Marklin/Trix have announced their second batch of Insider Club Models for 2025! 

A real powerhouse is rolling onto the Märklin and Trix H0 rails as a club model. The DB Class 66 002 Steam Locomotive was a great wish of many club members and is now appearing exclusively in the club as a completely new design. The highlight locomotive has many lovingly realized details on board, is absolutely prototypical and has plenty of power for extraordinary driving fun. Of course, this locomotive will come with a host of features and here are a few highlights;

They have launched quite a number of new items and we will briefly touch on a few highlights for each, the details of which you can browse at your leisure.

Marklin/Trix Highlights:

·       Marklin/Trix unveil an advance announcement of a 2026 new item, the Class VT 18.16 Diesel powered railcar as an Era VI Museum edition, currently under restoration. This is completely new tooling with all possible features. You can find this under Marklin stock # 38175 and Trix T25175.

·       In the MHI program, the BR 01 turns a hundred and so Marklin made a new advertising locomotive in the Class 101 with a picture of the bottom half of the boiler of a BR 01. This is a very sharp design and being in the MHI program, will be a sure sell out quickly. You can find the HO version under Marklin stock # 39479 and Trix T 25479. In Z scale, you will find this under 88668. Unfortunately, no release yet in MiniTrix N Scale. Perhaps Fall?

·       Many had missed out on the DR 18.314 Oil burner when it was announced back in 2021. Now you can get the Era 3 version in Marklin stock # 39029 and Trix stock # T25029. This one will also come with Dynamic Smoke!

·       The ever-popular Store Locomotive for 2025 continues in Marklin’s black and red color scheme. Marklin Class 218 Diesel Locomotive Stock # 39279 and Double Pocket cars Stock # 47478 will be very limited in production so order early. In Z, the Christmas coach, stock # 80635 will be very attractive. As always, Christmas themes sell out quite quickly so ensure your reservation now by pre-ordering early.

·       The annual Christmas Cars, stock # 48425 will get a new Class 185.2 Electric Christmas Locomotive this year, stock # 36025. These will come with gold plated 24 carat pantographs and couplers!

·       Z Scale fans will enjoy a real treat with the Swiss Class Rae TEE II Powered Rail Car Train. This 6-piece set is completely new tooling. The centre coach with pantographs will be the powered coach. All coaches with interior details and LED lighting on each end. Stock # 88730.

·       Finally, previously announced items in Gauge 1 are the Edelweiss Pullman 6-Piece Coach Set Stock # 58000. No doubt, an absolute stunning set to go with the Cl 241 Steam Locomotive # 55086. The US Shay Marklin # 38700 and Trix T25700 and log car set 45600 sold out very quickly in Germany, however, due to the tariff issues, have yet to be shipped to Marklin, USA. There may still be an opportunity to order more of these. The latest announcement was the “Rock N Roll Train dedicated to the AC DC band. Marklin Stock # 39966 and Trix Stock # T25492. The 3 corresponding freight cars weathered and come with various memorabilia. The Marklin 46270;46930; and 48837 cars can easily have their wheels exchanged for those ordering the DC Trix version of the locomotive T25492. MiniTrix Highlights:

·       MiniTrix fans will get a superb treat with the smallest production steam locomotive with Sound! The Class R 3/3 Stock # T16332 will come with a DCC/mfx Sound Decoder and to complement this Gem, 3 Passenger coaches T18962; T18963 and T18964.

·       Following the success of last year’s sell out of the UP Big Boy, MiniTrix will now get the infamous Class 3900 Challenger, stock # T16488. This will come with dual smoke units as well. Minitrix Brochure for download.

LGB

·       LGB fans will celebrate with the 100th Anniversary of the famous DR Tank Locomotive 99 5001. This will come with a DCC/mfx Sound decoder. For many enthusiasts, they will remember this locomotive as the one that moved them into garden railroading. You can order this under stock # LGB-20753. LGB Brochure for download.

Following the success of the EDELWEISS 6 Piece Car set in HO Scale, (Marklin 42470 and Trix 26470), Marklin surprised us all with the announcement of the EDELWEISS in 1 Gauge!

Luxurious travel

The Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (CIWL) - a glamorous name from the heyday of the railroad - is the oldest European company to operate sleeping cars, dining cars and luxury trains. It quickly became the epitome of luxurious travel. The EDELWEISS was capable of traveling at a maximum speed of 120 km/h, especially on the flat race tracks in the southern sections between Luxembourg and Basel. The fastest express steam locomotives of the respective railroad administrations were usually used for this purpose, such as the newly developed French Series 13 or 241 A steam locomotive of the Compagnie des chemins de fer de l'Est (Ostbahn).

In the operating period we have recreated, around 1937, the train ran the Couplage coach combination of two Pullman coaches of the type Étoile du Nord and Côte d'Azur, supplemented by two luggage coaches at both ends of the train. The train thus exuded the contemporary, luxurious flair of the golden age of travel.

Marklin complements this incredibly exquisite set with the appropriate Steam Locomotive to pull them. A true giant. The French Eastern Railroad Series 13 heavy express train steam locomotive with a tender in the version as a locomotive for the EDELWEISS express train car set. A real highlight and statement in the Gauge 1 assortment.

These are special models that the factories produce for the IDEE & SPIEL Company as EUROTRAIN Exclusive editions. These typically sell out quickly and do take time to come in.  This will be the first time we will have offered the Piko brand models.

• Of note are the Dual-Power 248 Locomotives from ERC.D. The digital will also come with digitally controlled pantographs along with numerous other functions. In Piko, you will find the analog version below 71345; the two-rail DCC version 71346 and the Marklin AC Digital version,71347.
•  Unfortunately, the images for Piko 71348.71349 and 71350 have yet to be released. Images to be updated as soon as released.
• The DB BR E44 is being offered in a 2 tone color scheme, updated design features. In Piko, you will find the analog version below 71351; the two-rail DCC version 71352 and the Marklin AC Digital version 71353.
• FInally, a Special 2-piece Telescopic Hood Car set with Graffiti for DB Cargo haulers.

Just in time for the Intermodellbau fair in Dortmund (April 10th – April 13th 2025) we are presenting an H0 freight car G10 “Rothaus” in epoch II. It is based on a Black Forest “3-Seenbahn” museum freight car that was restored just a few years ago.

The Shay Locomotive

As with LGB's New Items presentation, today we are presenting the Shay locomotive for H0, this time in standard gauge. The extraordinary technology with the external drive including fully movable gear adjustment makes this locomotive an attraction on every model railway layout.
We are delighted to be able to offer this myth among steam engines with its massive appearance in full equipment including smoke generator, sound functions and buffer storage.

You can still experience the Shay steam locomotive myth in the mountains of West Virginia today.

Even though our great model retired after 1945, its successor is still pounding the tracks in tourist traffic today

No doubt, a very fitting Surprise to see this being announced in HO scale following the LGB New Item announcements of 3 very impressive Shay Locomotives in G Scale, LGB-26701;26702 and 26703. Now, the HO Shay version as Marklin stock # 38700 and in Trix, the stock # 25700. In addition, both models will see complementing 3-piece flat car sets; in Marklin stock # 45600 and in Trix, stock # 24922. These car sets are also completely new tooling as well and come with different road #’s. You can complement the Marklin version by extending it with the Trix 24922 and visa versa, the Trix version with the Marklin 45600. Of course, complementary wheel exchanges will be made.

Happy Birthday!

He has been the mouse's very best friend for 50 years: the little blue elephant who tumbles from one funny adventure to the next in the "Sendung mit der Maus" (The Show with the Mouse). Everyone who was a child in the last half century should know the little TV star. To mark his anniversary, the WDR broadcaster has now given him his own locomotive: the 110 469 4, which provides replacement services for the "Train Rental" TRI, is now travelling around the country in an elephant design. The locomotive was presented in Cologne: the elephant greets from the two front sides from a "50" while the mouse dances with joy. The anniversary logo also plays a key role on the (differently designed) sides of the locomotive.
With its eye-catching print, the elephant locomotive will probably become one of the most popular photo motifs on Germany's rails. Mouse fans have a good chance of seeing it, especially in North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. According to TRI, this is where the electric locomotive will be used most. If you look closely, you can still see the original color of the 60-year-old machine. The 110 has blue "glasses" around the driver's windshield that go perfectly with the blue elephant.
